We have all clicked past a privacy policy without reading it. We would rather not add to that pile, so here is ours, kept as plain as we can make it.
What we keep
Two things, and only when they apply. If you send us a message, we have your name and your email, for the obvious reason that we need them to write back. And the site, like every site, quietly notes the ordinary details of a visit, such as the kind of device you used and which pages interested you. None of that points to a particular person.
Why we bother keeping it
The visit details help us see which writing lands and keep the place running. Your email exists only so we can reply. That is genuinely the extent of it. No profiles, no lists sold on, no games.
On cookies
These are the small files that let a site recall you from one page to the next. Some keep things working, some help with the advertising you see. You are welcome to block them in your browser. Only the smaller conveniences will miss them.
The companies we lean on
We use Google for traffic figures and for advertising. Those services have their own cookies and their own rules, which are set out on their side, not ours. If the ads are too much, your Google settings are where to tune them down.
Young visitors
This site is written for grown ups. We do not knowingly gather anything from children under thirteen, and if we ever found we had, it would be removed without delay.
Asking us to remove something
Say the word. Ask what we hold, or ask us to delete it, and we will handle it simply and without a fuss.
